It’s important to keep the litter in your Pet Litter Globe at the correct level – not too much and not too little. If there’s an excessive amount, the excess clean litter will be expelled into the waste drawer during the first few cycles. Since the waste clumps are removed during each cycle, there is no need to put excessive litter in the globe.
In order to go to work, you need to open the litter-robot waist drawer and remove the charcoal filter.
How often do you change the filter in a Litter-Robot?

We recommend that you change the carbon filters every three to four months depending on how frequently your Litter-Robot gets used. This is really up to personal preference. If you are noticing a stronger odor coming from the unit, it may be time to change the carbon filter.
We recommend 1-4 indoor cats per Litter-Robot. Some customers have more cats using a single unit, but as a rule of thumb, one cat using Litter-Robot 3 requires that the drawer be emptied once per week; two cats, twice per week; three cats, every other day, and so on.

If the CATS unit does not seem to be working properly, one thing you can try is resetting it by turning it off and then back on using the power button. During the start-up cycle, you can push on the unit to see if the CATS activates. If it does, press “reset” to pause the cycle, then press “reset” again to return the unit to home position.

If additional weight is detected during a cycle, the Globe will stop. This is to ensure that the cat is not trapped inside the unit and can safely exit.
How does the Litter-Robot know the drawer is full
The Litter-Robot is a self-cleaning litter box that uses infrared beams to detect when the waste drawer is full and needs to be emptied.
There is a plastic cap on the left-hand side of the waste port opening. Lift the cap up and you will see a small hole. This is the overflow valve. The overflow valve is used to release pressure from the system if the pressure gets too high.
To deep clean your Litter-Robot, start by unplugging the unit and removing the waste drawer. Next, using a soft cloth or sponge, wipe down the inside of the globe and the top of the unit. Once the globe is clean, empty out the used litter and refill the unit with fresh litter. Finally, replace the waste drawer and plug the unit back in.
